Monotype is a printmaking process where only one print is actually produced. I use Akuacolor water-based inks on plexiglass to create the painting, which is then transferred (mirror image) to Rives BFK paper by running it through a press. As the bulk of the ink comes off onto the paper, there can be no second print, making each monotype an original.

Most of these images are "multiple drop", which means that I work one or more colors on the plexi, print it, then work different parts of the plexi image, and overprint it on the same paper, and so on.

Some of the images are embellished with Prismacolor pencil after the ink has dried.
